Dynamite Nobel offers independent reporting and monitoring of blasting operations on sites or at quarries where ground vibrations and air blast is of concern.
1. Non-Explosive Rock Breaking
In the realm of rock breaking without the use of explosives, a revolutionary approach is employed, utilizing chemical expansive mortars. These specialized cracking agents are formulated in a powder format, and their true marvel lies in their ability to expand upon contact with water. What sets these products apart is not just their effectiveness but also their environmental friendliness. They represent a game-changing alternative, especially in situations where extensive site restrictions and safety concerns rule out the use of traditional explosives.
2. Explosives Blasting
Although explosives may be highly regulated, they are more economical and should always be a contractor’s first choice for rock excavation. Blasting is the predominant method used to reduce a solid body, such as rock, to fragments by using an explosive.
The process of blasting includes the following:
1. Drilling holes into the rock
2. Placing an explosive charge in each hole
3. Detonating the explosive charge
4. Cleaning away the broken rock
5. Using controlled blasting methods to remove rock requires skilled planning and a methodical approach.
All rock types are different so the geology of the rock requires careful consideration in preparing an effective blast design. The site conditions and environment need to be factored into a blast design that returns good fragmentation while keeping ground vibrations, fly-rock, and air blasts to a minimum.
3. Demolition
Controlled demolition is the demolition of a building or structure using explosives. A structure is collapsed by drilling holes, weakening strategic areas, or cutting the re-bar and placing explosives in a detailed design that detonates at pre-determined time sequencing.
Explosives and gravity are the key ingredients.
The structure is wrapped with a geo fabric and fencing combination before the blast is detonated.
A lot of planning and preparation goes into controlled demolitions and in only a matter of seconds after detonation, it is all over.
4. Quarry Services
Employing expert drilling and blast design is crucial for optimizing fragmentation, which in turn enhances resource extraction efficiency. This approach ensures that the rock is broken down in a controlled manner, maximizing the yield of usable material while minimizing waste and environmental impact.
Key Elements of Quarry Services:
1. Expert Drilling Techniques
2. Blast Design and Planning
3. Controlled Blasting Techniques
4. Safety and Environmental Considerations
5. Post-Blast Operations
By focusing on these key elements, quarry services can significantly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of resource extraction. This not only improves the profitability of the operation but also ensures sustainable and responsible use of natural resources.
